Apex Legends adds yet another milestone to their inventory, grew a massive 50 million player base in the very first month after its launch

Its been only a month when Apex Legends launched and since then the battle royale by Respawn & EA has already been played by 50 million players, as confirmed on their twitter page.

The game had its surprise launch in February, and since then Apex Legends has grown at a massive rate. The game had more than one million players within their first eight hours, which went to 2.5 million by the end of the first day. Fortnite Battle Royale is the closest competitor to Apex Legends and it took nearly four months for Fortnite to hit the 45 million players mark, clarifying how swiftly Apex Legends in emerging as one of the best battle royales till date.
As of this fall, Fortnite had grown nearly over 200 million players, and since Epic had much more time to introduce their game to the mobile users. Whereas Apex's numbers are based on players using only three platforms on which the game had launched - PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The game hasn't been without issues, including inconsistency in the hitboxes, crashes and the growing number of cheaters. However, its early success is no mean feat, particularly when Respawn has yet to kick off the season pass or introduce much more content than a new weapon and seasonal cosmetics.

As for now, the game is expanding with a good pace and to keep the momentum going Respawn will definitely add tons of new features and contents to maintain the overall popularity of the game. Apex won't necessarily have to reach Fortnite's level of popularity to remain successful, but there will be pressure to keep it relevant and prevent gamers from drifting toward other titles once the initial thrill is over. We can expect certain new things coming to the game in the near future when taking hints from their twitter post saying "can’t wait to show you what’s next."
