Rumored - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 to be released in 2019

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4

After Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's release in late 2018, maybe it's time we could see another COD game from the franchise. Rumors suggest a Modern Warfare 2 Remaster is what we'll see later this year. The widely popular Modern Warfare series came out from the hands of Infinity Ward and Call of Duty: Ghosts was also developed by them, leaving us with a thought of a sequel to Call of duty: Ghosts.

However, The speculation surrounding Ghosts 2 was quickly ended when Kotaku reporter Jason Schreier responded on a thread saying Call of Duty 2019 was certainly not Ghosts 2. Fans may recall that one of the major characters from Modern Warfare 2, Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley, wore a skull-patterned balaclava.

Infinity Ward's senior communication manager Ashton Williams tweeted back in January that featured a skull, which may hint that the next Call of Duty may be Modern Warfare 4. Williams' tweet may be in reference to that, which could mean there's a Modern Warfare sequel starring the character scheduled for 2019.
If we take a look at the popularity of Modern Warfare Remastered, Williams tweet could be a hint for Modern Warfare 2 remaster as well. Infinity Ward released Modern Warfare Remaster alongside Infinite Warfare, so maybe the developers are planning to do something similar. But, all of this could be a sham, based on few assumptions, and the tweet could just be a tease for a brand-new Call of Duty game.

Considering Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the first game in the franchise to not feature a single-player campaign, maybe we'll see the return of a single-player campaign with this year's Call of Duty.
